Verizon Announces the LG Lucid – March 29th for $80

Today – Tuesday, Verizon Wireless announced the LG Lucid, a mid-range and capable Android phone, for an affordable price. The phone, which runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread,  will be available beginning on March 29th for $79.99 with a new two-year contract. The Lucid is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p video, 4G LTE support, a front-facing camera for video chats, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and Video Producer software for creating and editing HD videos on the fly.

The real grabber is the LTE capability (wireless hotspot for additional fee) and the price, a mere $80. Gingerbread is disappointing but Verizon has already promised an ICS upgrade in the near future.
