HTC One X – Will it be the final name for the Edge/Endeavor/Supreme?

HTC Logo

It appears we have another name for the HTC Endeavor (aka HTC Supreme, HTC Edge), the HTC One x. Pocketnow reports that HTC will market their new powerhouse with the X written in superscript. On top of that, Slashgear reports that the HTC Ville, the HTC One x‘s sister/brother (whichever you prefer),  will be named the HTC Ones.

This is a whole new path for HTC. In the past, HTC has had one-word names for their phones such as the Desire, Rezound, and Vivid. Could this be a reputable marketing choice? What I do know is that I don’t want to go around talking about my new, HTC Twenty-Two z. Although, the name is very similar to the Nexus One, another early powerhouse (and Android developer phone), which may show that HTC is displaying the smartphone as a high-end superphone. With a quad-core Tegra 3 CPU, 1GB of RAM and many other enticing features the One x sure looks like it will become one of HTC’s high-range offers for 2012.

There’s been a lot about the upcoming phone including a leaked RUU that revealed some screenshots of HTC Sense 4.0 and Ice Cream Sandwich. The name keeps changing and has gone from HTC Edge to HTC Endeavor to HTC Supreme, and now to HTC One x. We can’t be sure of the name until this phone is released at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of this month. Until then, be sure to look for more clues about the name of the upcoming HTC powerhouse.

About Web Ninja

I am an avid web designer and technology compelled me into journalism. My career started out with a blog about how to hack your Windows PC, but it developed into my love for Apple (which is now nonexistent). Before I was introduced to Android I was an Apple fanboy, I loved anything apple, iPhones, iPods, Macs, etc. Then, I was in Best Buy with a friend and he was buying a phone... An Android phone running Cupcake (1.6). He wasn't the techiest friend a guy could have, but he still loved technology. Now, this was a new phone at the time and of course, he had to get it. I thought the phone was going to be a ripoff of an iPhone but, soon I realized that it had potential. That's how my Android love developed. I currently own a Samsung Galaxy S2 from Sprint as well as an HTC Thunderbolt for Verizon.
