With every Nexus device powered by the Android mobile operating system, you can find that it is easy to take a screenshot without being required to root your device. For this tutorial, I will explain how to take a screenshot of the screen on your Nexus 7, Samsung Nexus 10, LG Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Nexus 2 devices. All five Nexus devices require the same process to accomplish the same end-result.
How to take a screenshot on a Nexus smartphone and/or tablet?
- Boot up your Nexus device.
- Hold down the “volume down” and the “power” buttons at the same time, on your Nexus device.
- After hearing a noise made by the Nexus device, you will see a screenshot overlay displayed.
- Enter the gallery application.
- Find the “screenshot” folder to find the screenshots you captured on your device.
That’s it.
How to share a screenshot after capturing it?
In Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Google introduced some additional features to the notification feature of the operating system. One of these features helps the device owner to share a screenshot quickly after it was taken with your friends, family members or anyone that that you know.
Steps to sharing a screenshot :
- After successfully taking a screenshot, pull down the list of notifications by swiping your finger down from the top-left corner of the Nexus device’s screen.
- You will see a notification saying that a screenshot was captured.
- From the box to the bottom, you will see a “share” option.
- Select it and an overlay will be displayed.
- From the overlay, you have the options of sharing the screenshot Via bluetooth, gMail, Google+, Twitter and/or Picasa. Select any to proceed.
