Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 – Are Stylus’s Coming Back?

The Samsung Galaxy Note brought the stylus back to smartphones and now it looks like we might see it on tablets. Samsung has been so pleased with its reception that they have talked about using a stylus as their input method, especially on their tablet lineup. Since the S Pen uses a Wacom digitizer, rather than acting as a generic capacitive stylus, adding support for it during hardware development. Due to this, it seemed like there would be a delay before we started seeing their “S Pen” in other devices. Surprisingly, there’s now a sign that just such a device could nearly be ready, with Samsung mentioning a Galaxy Note 10.1 (10.1, most likely referencing to a tablet) in an official MWC event invitation.

Of course, there’s always the possibility this was a typo. After all, it seems a bit odd for a company to knowingly reveal a brand new product in this way. In that case, what could Samsung have meant? It’s quite difficult to find another reading that makes sense and also doesn’t similarly leak a new product name. The event seems to be targeted at developers and the event is going to focus on the release of an S Pen SDK, as well as the (hopefully a tablet) Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

We will find out at the end of this month at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

About Web Ninja

I am an avid web designer and technology compelled me into journalism. My career started out with a blog about how to hack your Windows PC, but it developed into my love for Apple (which is now nonexistent). Before I was introduced to Android I was an Apple fanboy, I loved anything apple, iPhones, iPods, Macs, etc. Then, I was in Best Buy with a friend and he was buying a phone... An Android phone running Cupcake (1.6). He wasn't the techiest friend a guy could have, but he still loved technology. Now, this was a new phone at the time and of course, he had to get it. I thought the phone was going to be a ripoff of an iPhone but, soon I realized that it had potential. That's how my Android love developed. I currently own a Samsung Galaxy S2 from Sprint as well as an HTC Thunderbolt for Verizon.
